Frequently Asked Questions
1. Will the Theater have good acoustics?
2. What is Great Falls Public Radio’s involvement in the project?
3. Is Great Falls capable of supporting multiple performing arts venues?
- Yes! Because we are building the space from the walls out, we are fortunate to have nationally acclaimed musician Philip Aaberg working to ensure that it has the best possible acoustics. In addition, theater expert Stacey Berquist to create a venue that audience members can hear from any location, no matter what the seating location. Obviously, the hall will need to be “tunable” so that it could be acoustically optimized for different types of performances.
2. What is Great Falls Public Radio’s involvement in the project?
- Great Falls Public Radio does not have a direct relation to the project at this time, but they have indicated that they are very interested in being an anchor tenant in the space when the renovation is completed. The New Pantages anticipates that it will collaborate with KGPF to present emerging musicians and public radio live events through a programming partnership agreement.
3. Is Great Falls capable of supporting multiple performing arts venues?
- It isn’t unusual for communities the size of Great Falls to have more than one performing arts venue. Right now, there is not a good mid-sized performance venue in the city; The New Pantages will also serve as a catalyst to bring more people downtown. We are planning for this venue to be distinctive from others in the area.
